• Richard Jackson House – This house was built in 1664 by Richard Jackson, and is the oldest wood frame house in New Hampshire.
• Governor John Langdon House – A merchant shipbuilder by the name of John Langdon built his family’s home in 1784. George Washington once visited the home in 1789. It is noted for having rooms with elaborate wood carvings reminiscent of the majestic and regal rococo style.
• Moffatt-Ladd House (William Whipple House) – This house is both a National Historic Landmark and a historic house museum. This Georgian house was built in 1763 and was home to William Whipple, who signed the Declaration of Independence and was a war general. Many of his personal artifacts can be found in the home.
• Wentworth Lear Historic Houses – These are two houses located on the south waterfront of Portsmouth. The houses were built between 1750-1760 to study the contrast between the Georgian style homes and simple wood frame homes.
